The Purchasing Division is responsible for providing assistance to City departments in securing goods and services in the most economical, efficient, and timely manner possible. We handle purchases in a manner ensuring competition between potential vendors and contractors in accordance with local, state and federal laws and regulations, sound internal controls and professional purchasing.

The Purchasing Division advertises all Invitations For Bid and Requests For Proposals in The Hays Free Press. Any advertisement will be at least two weeks in advance of the bid or proposal opening date. A formal bid or proposal is a written solicitation exceeding $50,000 for goods or services.

Re-Bid RFP-20-008 Bond Election Facilitation Services
The City of Buda seeks written proposals from qualified firms to provide pre-bond facilitation and processing services for a possible Municipal General Obligation Bond Election slated for November 2021. It is the intent of the City of Buda to select a consultant to accomplish the services outlined in this Request for Proposals. The City of Buda will receive sealed responses for Bond Election Facilitation Services to provide for a contract commencing within thirty (30) days after the date of award by the City of Buda and continuing for a period sufficient to complete the original scope of work within a twelve (12) month process.

RFP 21-001 Grant Writing and Management Services

The City of Buda seeks written proposals from qualified firms to assist in the application preparation and overall grant management required by the City for the implementation of a capital improvement project(s) for FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Programs, Texas General Land Office Community Development Block Grant Programs, Texas Water Development Board Grant Program, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Grant Programs, and other state and federal grant programs. The management consultant or firm to be hired is to provide contract-related management services to the City.

RFQ 21-002 Facility Planning Services for the City of Buda Public Works and Parks Depts. 

The City intends to select a qualified facility design Consultant to perform a facility needs assessment, planning, and schematic site design for possible expansion of the current Public Works and Parks facilities and to evaluate the need for a new site.

The Project involves analysis of the existing site located at 525 Garison Rd., Buda, Texas, and the evaluation of future facility needs of the Public Works Department to evaluate possible future expansion to more efficiently utilize the current site. The Consultant will also evaluate the growth projections of the Public Works Department to determine if and when a new site may be needed to meet the department's needs. The Consultant will prepare a final report that includes departmental growth projections and analysis of facility and space needs of the Public Works and Parks Departments for the next 10, 25, and 50 years. The report will also include a draft schematic design and planning level budgets to reconfigure and expand the current site as well as to develop a new site for the future.  The Consultant will conduct interviews with City Staff to understand the future space needs of the department and will evaluate the configuration and facilities of other similar Central Texas Cities.

The Consultant shall plan for the required meetings with staff and presentations to the City Council necessary to complete this project by the end of April 2021.

IFB 21-003 Fire Station and Bluff Street Area Drainage Improvements - Proposed Diversion Channel

The City of Buda will receive sealed Lump Sum and Unit Price Bids for a single prime contract, pursuant to Local Government Code Chapter 252, for "IFB 21-003 Fire Station and Bluff Street Area Drainage Improvements-Proposed Diversion Channel" in the Municipal Complex Building located at 405 E. Loop Street, Bldg. 100, Buda, TX 78610 on January 15, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Immediately thereafter, the bid proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud in the Multi-Purpose Room (1034) in the Municipal Complex.
