The Buda PD K-9 Unit

The Traffic Division investigates all major (fatality) accidents. The traffic division also follows up on traffic complaints and is assigned to work traffic enforcement in the City of Buda.

The Traffic Division officer also has a specially trained K-9 companion. The K-9 team works a variety of shifts/hours and when off, is available for call outs. The K-9 lives with the handler. In order to enhance the effectiveness of the K-9 unit, continuous education is top priority. The K-9 dog and handler are trained and certified annually to meet the nationally recognized standards.

K-9 Dog Cora"Cora" is our City of Buda K-9 Officer. Cora is a 4 year old Belgian Malinois who was brought to the US from Germany. The Buda Police Department acquired the working dog from Lackland Air Force Base where she began her training. Cora is currently utilized in narcotic detection.
