April 2016 Updates

Posted to Bond Updates on April 13, 2016 at 10:50 AM by Melinda Hodges

Propositions 1 and 2
Schematic design for the City Hall/Library and Public Safety buildings is well underway. It is anticipated that the design will be presented to City Council for approval in April or May.

Proposition 3
On February 29th, 2016, Allen Crozier with HDR gave a presentation regarding the streets projects. This presentation was also given to the Buda Bond Advisory Committee at their March 24th, 2016 meeting. Both groups agreed on the following feedback:
  • Trees will not be removed along Main Street. City Council gave additional instructions for the engineers to think outside the box on ways to improve traffic on Main Street.
  • Continue with the planned improvements to Main Street at FM 967.
  • Continue with the planned improvements to Old Goforth Rd.
  • Of the four proposals for improvements to San Antonio Rd., both groups preferred option 4.

View the presentation here.

Proposition 4
The City has received the draft Preliminary Engineering Report from Freese and Nichols, regarding our drainage bond projects. This report is not final and has not been approved by City Council.
View the draft report here. (This is a very large file and may take some time to download.)

Proposition 5
The City of Buda has purchased a piece of land along Garison Road, just past the wastewater treatment plant, with the intent of creating a new park. Both the Parks Commission and the Prop 5 committee expressed the opinion that further Prop 5 funds should not be spent on this project. They would like to see a plan created for the park before any development is started. The City Council agreed with this plan of action.
