Code Enforcement
Code Enforcement is the inspection and enforcement of environmental hazards to protect the public health, safety and welfare. This is accomplished through enforcement and education of city ordinances and state laws to improve the quality of life & aesthetics in our neighborhoods. Code Enforcement does not enforce HOA or deed restrictions.

Code Enforcement Officers actively enforce city codes and ordinances by informing and educating the public of standards set forth by their elected representatives. This is accomplished by:
  • Cooperation with the citizens of the City of Buda
  • Correspondence
  • Public contact
  • Working side-by-side with other divisions and departments, such as
    • Police
    • Engineering
    • Public Works
    • Planning & Zoning
    • Building Inspections
    • Buda Fire Department (Hays County Emergency Service Districts #2 & #8)
While Code Enforcement Officers can issue citations, their primary goal is for problems to be remedied by the property owner.

The Code Enforcement Office is working to implement the online Code Enforcement 'Solution Center' system for citizens to report property maintenance code violations online.  As the implementation progresses, this page will be updated with more information regarding the Solution Center.
