George Haehn, Place 4
GH 4.jpg
I have always wanted to make a difference and serve the people of this great nation. I served on active duty for 21 years as a United States Marine. I received a Bronze Star with V for Valor for my actions while engaged in combat operations in Desert Storm. I developed a zero based budget that saved thousands in taxpayer dollars while ensuring that training and vital operations were still carried out.

Injuries forced me to retire from the Marine Corps, so I attended the University of Texas at Austin and received my Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Teacher Certification then became a certified teacher. I taught secondary school for six years and currently, I am serving as the Cub Master for Pack 128. I am also serving my parish by teaching First Communion classes.

My wife Stephanie and I have been married for 18 years. We have lived in Buda for the past 4 years, and currently reside in Whispering Hollow. We are very blessed to have three children, two of whom are adopted and one of them has a mild form of Autism called Aspergers. Because of these wonderful children, both Stephanie and I are advocates for adoption and autism awareness. Our oldest son is now an adult and resides in Louisiana.

As a member of the City Council I will use my experience to work with other members and focus on implementing the "Buda 2030" Plan. I will also listen to the people of Buda and seek their input on the many issues facing this beautiful city.
