Code Enforcement
Buda’s Code Enforcement Department handles a wide variety of issues.
If you have a code complaint or question, please contact Jesse Partida at 512-312-0084. It is helpful to provide the address of the violation and any other specific information that might expedite taking care of the problem.
Sign Regulation
If you put a sign in the City right-of- way advertising your garage sale this weekend you run the risk of at least having the sign removed by a police officer, code enforcement officer or other City employee and possibly a fine. It is illegal to erect or affix a sign in the right-of-way (the area from the curb to the sidewalk,) in the median (the area that is in the middle of any street,) on trees, public fences, buildings or utility/telephone poles. The recent emphasis on enforcing the sign ordinance is the result of information gained from a citizen survey that indicated Buda residents’ desire to clear the signs from streets. The city sign ordinance does allow residents who have a garage sale permit to place one sign in their front yard advertising the sale. Garage sale permits can be obtained at the Utility Billing window in City Hall, or on this website. The only allowable signs are those for elections and housing developments. However, election signs must be placed off the right-of way and housing signs need a City-issued permit.
