Bo Kidd had been with the Hays County Sheriff’s Office from 1994 to 2010. During his career with
the Sheriff’s Office he has held assignments as a Patrol Deputy, Field Training Officer, Detective/Narcotics Investigator, Patrol Sergeant, and Patrol Captain. During most of his career with Hays
County, he had also been assigned to the Hays County SWAT Team in various capacities and has
proudly served as the commander of that unit.

Bo served two administrations as Patrol Captain (Montague / Bridges). Bo was given the lead by
Sheriff Allen Bridges to develop a partnership between the Hays County Sheriff’s Office and the
Cityof Buda to create personalized police services. He created and negotiated the contract
between Hays County and the City of Buda in 2007. Bo worked with the City of Buda in developing the services and became the first Captain assigned to the City of Buda (Buda Patrol). He
functioned as the Chief of Police for the City of Buda until being re‐assigned in August of 2009.
He holds an Advanced Peace Officer License and TCLEOSE Instructor License. Bo is a certified instructor in numerous law enforcement topics. Bo has instructed numerous SWAT and Use of
Force topics across the state. He was one of a five members from The Hays County SWAT team
that competed in the Texas Tactical Police Association SWAT Compeition in 2003, competing
against the SWAT teams from Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and other major metro forces. They
brought home second place state honors

Bo was among the first adjunct instructors for the nationally acclaimed Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training progra (ALERRT), a partnership between Texas State University, Hays
County and the City of San Marcos. He was instrumental in the development of the ALERRT
program that teaches first responding patrol officers how to address active shooter situations such as Columbine and Virginia Tech.

Bo has lived in Hays County in the mid 1980s. Bo and his wife (Dawn), have two sons ages 10 &
7. Bo and Dawn are very involved in their sons’ activities, with each taking leading roles as
coaches for youth basketball, baseball and football for the Hill Country Recreation Association.
