Brian LaBorde joined the city of Buda in March 8,2010 and was named Assistant City Manager/City
Planner. Mr LaBorde oversees Planning and Engineering, Library, Parks and Recreation and Tourism.
Mr. LaBorde has over 15 years experience in municipal government. Prior to joining the city, he has
worked for several other municipalities at various positions: City of Orange as Comprehensive City
Planner/ Assistant to the City Manager; City of Dayton as Director of Planning to Acting City Manager; City of Shenandoah as Assistant Director to Director of Public Works.
A Texas native, Mr. LaBorde holds a BA in Political Science and a Masters in Public Administration both from Texas Tech University. Mr. LaBorde holds a TCEQ Class “C” licenses in Ground Water and
Wastewater Treatment, Certified Planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners, Certified
Public Manager from the William P. Hobby Center for Public Service of Texas State University, and
Certified Government Finance Officer for the Government Finance Officers Association of Texas.
He is a past director of the American Planning Association of the Southeast Section and former State Board representative, former part‐time teacher for Lamar State College‐Port Arthur, Texas , and
former Rotarian of the Dayton and Killeen-Harker Heights Chapters, and former Vice District Chairman for the Three Rivers Council #578 Boy
Scouts of America. Brian has been married to his lovely wife Misti for year and a half.
