City of Buda Road Closures

City of Buda Road/Lane Closures

On Friday, June 21 starting at 5:00 AM, a traffic switch on FM 1626 will impact the intersections of RM 967 and FM 2770:

The traffic switch will begin at 5 AM on Friday, 06/21.
Northbound traffic will be shifted from FM 2770 to RM 967 onto the new pavement on the east side of the roadway.
Southbound traffic and the center turn lane will remain on the existing pavement on the west side of the roadway throughout the day.
Police Officers will be controlling the signals at FM 2770 and RM 967 throughout the day, in addition to the side roads as needed.
Daytime construction operations will consist of moving traffic barrier for the next phase of construction.
Once construction operations are complete, southbound traffic will be shifted onto the new pavement from FM 2770 to Old Black Colony Rd.
North of Old Black Colony Rd., southbound traffic and the center turn lane will remain on the existing pavement.
This configuration will be temporary, as construction will continue in the center of the northbound and southbound traffic from Old Black Colony Rd. to RM 967. Once the construction of the new roadway completed, southbound traffic and the center turn lane will be shifted onto the new pavement. This work is estimated to be completed prior to the start of school on August 15th.
For more information please check the project website at Special thanks to the Office of Commissioner Mark Jones for putting together this information.

With the approval of the City, water utility work may continue later than 9:00 p.m. and earlier than 7:00 a.m. Affected water utility customers will be notified at least 48 hours prior to any work proceeding after normal working hours.

June 10, 2019 — Due to Old Goforth Road construction, the intersection of Green Meadows Lane and Old Goforth will be closed starting June 13 to permit the reconstruction of the intersection. The intersection at Tom Green School Road/Calomel Trail and Old Goforth will also be closed at this time. This is being done to allow the contractor to complete as much work as possible during the summer break to minimize disruptions at the beginning of school. The construction will last approximately through August.

Meanwhile, both lanes of Old Goforth Road remain closed between FM 2001 and Tom Green School Road. The southbound lane of Old Goforth is open between Tom Green School Road and Hillside Terrace. Northbound Old Goforth is closed between FM 2001 and Hillside Terrace. The closures will last through approximately August. The contractor is anticipating to have the road reopened by the time school starts in August, but the overall project will not be finished until October. The road improvement project is part of the bond package passed in 2014.

The general scope of work for this project includes:

· Dedicated left and right turn lanes at Tom Green Elementary

· Intersection safety improvements at FM 2001

· Increase pedestrian connectivity between subdivisions and school

· Aesthetic enhancements
